For the third time, Shawn Mendes will return to his hometown to take theiHeartRadio
MMVAs stage in what’s sure to be one of the most unforgettable performances of the night.
The Toronto Vine star-turned-recording artist has become an international superstar thanks to his guitar-driven pop ballads, drawing comparisons to that of pop music heavy hitters Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, and fellow Canadian Justin Bieber.
Mendes’ self-titled third studio album was released this past May and included a handful of jittery, radio-friendly, up-tempo tracks such as “Nervous” and “Lost In Japan,” as well as some more mature, emotionally personal ballads like “In My Blood” and his duet with singer-songwriter Julia Michaels “Like To Be You.” Mendes has been busy promoting his self-titled album since announcing it back in April and will continue to do so well into 2019 with a massive worldwide stadium tour hitting a total of 56 countries spanning across two continents.
This will be the 19-year-old’s third time gracing the iHeartRadio MMVAs stage following his performances during the 2015 and 2016 award shows. Although he wasn’t in attendance last year, Mendes took home the iHeartRadio MMVA for Best Pop Video and also received nominations for Most Buzzworthy Canadian Artist, Fan Fave Artist or Group, and Video of the Year.
