Giselle chose ‘Counterfeit’ as her next single after performing the song at the home of John Rich (Big & Rich, Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy) in Nashville, where he commented that it was his favorite of the set and encouraged her to get the song to publishers in Nashville.

Giselle has worked under the direction of some of the world’s most highly acclaimed producers; David Foster, Humberto Gattica, Chris Faron, and J. Richard Hutt. She has shared stages worldwide with performers such as Keith Urban, George Strait, Brooks and Dunn, and most recently did two shows with John Rich (Big and Rich) in his Nashville home. She has also proudly represented Canadian music in Afghanistan, performing for our troops alongside Beverley Mahood.

“Counterfeit” (supported by FACTOR) is an adrenaline rush, calling out a relationship fraud; ‘a wolf in sheep’s clothing’. Giselle has been awarded for her songwriting and has landed cuts with several Canadian Country artists as well as the KW Glee show choir. She continues to pitch songs in Nashville and has had two songs recommended for the NSAI Publisher’s luncheon.

''I am amazed at the gentleness and softness of Canadian Country Singer/Songwriter ''Giselle'' but at the same time, she shows incredible strength and power as a woman within her lyrics and music, ''says Kim Cyr, NOW and THEN Magazine. ''Counterfeit is raw and it's brilliant showcasing the richness of the soulful harmonies that only Giselle can deliver,'' says Cyr.

Here is a part of the interivew with Giselle:

Kim:

''I am so happy to have you here on the show today Giselle.''

Giselle:

''Thank you for having me.''

Kim:

''Your career spans out over two decades, starting with you budding solo career.'' ''How old were you when that all started?''

Giselle:

''I would have been twenty five when I first released ''I Want The Fairy Tale.''

Kim:

''Was that the very first song your wrote?''

Giselle:

''It was the first song I released to radio.''

Kim:

''When you were young, what was the influences in music in your home and did that affect the kind of music you wanted to play?''

Giselle:

''I grew up singing in church quite a bit.'' ''My grandpa played the organ and he was a cantor in church, so he gave me the opportunity to sing in the church in front of everyone.'' ''That was a good start for me.'' ''The influences in my home were really wide stretched, but my dad really liked Led Zeppelin and all the rock and roll.'' ''My mom really liked country.'' ''I also grew up playing the violin I had an appreciation for classical music as well.'' ''I guess it all comes together when you sit down to write a song.''

Kim:

''As a young girl, can you remember the moment you thought songwriting is what I want to do?''

Giselle:

''When I was younger, I never wrote songs.'' ''I wrote alot of poetry and entered them in contests in school and things like that.'' ''Then when I met Rick Hutt, and I was talking about starting a solo career, we had a lot of submissions from publishers.'' ''There was a lot of songs that other people had written and he sat me down and said, ''Is this what you want to say because I think you could write something as good as this?'' ''Rick said, ''It would be a true testament of you.'' ''That was some of the best advise I ever got.''

Kim:

''That is an amazing story.'' ''Rick Hutt has done some amazing work with so many artists that we know here in Canada.'' ''He is just a phenomenal producer.''

Giselle:

''As a person, as a mentor, he has become a friend and guide throughout my life.'' ''Even aside from the studio end of it."

Kim:

''Awe, that pretty special.'' ''Do you remember what the very first song is that you wrote?'' ''It may not have been released but your very first one.''

Giselle:

''Hmmm, the very first one.'' ''Gosh, I don't know if I do because Rick's advice was you always want to write a hundred songs or more and pick your ten best.'' ''You don't want to only write ten and put them on the album.'' ''That's not how it works so there was a lot of songs.''

Kim:

''Ok, out those ten songs, do your remember the one you thought meant the most to you and do you remember what it was called?''

Giselle:

''I really liked ''I Want The FairyTale, ''which is the first one we released.'' ''I got that hook from the movie, ''Pretty Woman.'' ''Richard Gere says to Julia Roberts, ''What do you want?'' ''She says, ''I want the fairytale.'' ''That's where the idea came from.''

Kim:

''That is very cool.'' ''As a songwriter, many pull things from their personal life and write about it.'' ''Do you apply any of your life to your writing?''

Giselle:

''It's funny, I find writing songs almost like journaling so you can see the progress through my life with my songs.'' ''I wrote ''The Fairytale'' and I was young but I knew I just wanted romantic love.'' ''The story book romance and then I gratuate to songs like, ''Worth Fighting For'' and I want the fight, the real relationship.'' ''Where nobodies lying where I believe that everyone understands and believes in their own perspective.'' ''It doesn't mean they are lying, it's just deeper things like that, the progression.''

Kim:

''Good writers write about the real feelings and that is what is what makes them good storytellers.'' ''You are one of those writers and you have done such a great job when it comes to writing.'' ''People can relate to you.'' ''What was the message you wanted the fans to take away with your first solo album?''

Giselle:

''Awe, thank you.'' ''I think it was getting down to the real meat and potatoes of the relationships.'' ''Just what I had been through and having kids, that over time that relationship grows.'' ''I think that it's about the transition to ''If You Ask Me,'' is the title track on the album.'' ''It is talking about two perspectives in one relationship.'' ''It talks about how no one is seeing the other one and feeling a little bit isolated in their experience.'' ''But if you just sit down and talk about it, they would see that they are both feeling exactly the same but in different circumstances.''

Kim:

''Without the communication.''

Giselle:

''Yes, and you will hear that in ''Nobody Is lying'' and ''Worth Fighting For.''

Kim:

''Is there a time out of the two decades of bodywork in your career so far, that you remember performing with someone that means so much to you, that you hold really dear to your heart?'' ''You have worked with the best in the business like 'Keith Urban', 'George Strait', 'Brooks and Dunn', and so many more...in one of those moments, is there something that stands out for you?''

Giselle:

''I did have the chance to meet one of my my idols, I guess you would call it.'' ''I got to meet 'Carole King, ' when we were recording in LA, she was in the studio across the hall from us.'' ''She was just a genuine woman and a true inspiration to me as a woman.'' ''She was writing songs that people weren't writing about before her and especially for female artists.'' ''Songs like, 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.' '' It talks about, 'You my not love me but I am still going to go there tonight.'' ''Do you know what I mean, because women weren't writing songs about things like that.''

Kim:

"She was a real trail blazer for women in this world.''

Giselle:

''She sure was.'' ''Getting to chat with her and she was so encouraging to me and personable.'' ''I thought, with someone of her level of success can be this personable with me, then I can be if I am ever fortunate enough to reach anywhere near her level of success.''

Kim:

''Yes, but that lead you to know that you yourself could write those kinds of lyrics and get it out there when no one else was.''

Giselle:

''Yes, yes...absolutely.'' ''Talk about the real stuff.''

Kim:

''That's right.'' ''Now, you have also worked with big producers in your career like 'David Foster,' who was a big part of your life and a big part of your career.'' ''That's when you were in the trio band called, ''Lace.'' ''He was the one that put the band together.'' ''He found 'Beverley Mahood' and then brought you together.''

Giselle:

''We were actually together before that band.'' ''We were recording with Rick at the studio so she actually met David first and he had the idea of a all girl trio. There wasn't anyone at the time so they went to LA and met with a few singers.'' ''There were a lot of girls singers that sang with her.'' ''There can be great lead singers but singers that can't sing harmony.'' ''So she brought me in at that point and to meet him so he could hear us sing together so they flew me down to LA to audition and that's how that happened.''

Kim:

''That's amazing.''

Giselle:

''That's when they brought in Corbi Dyann until the year 2000 and she left and they brought in Stacey Lee.'' ''I lose track of the year's''

Kim:

''You guys had been nominated for a few awards at the time in the year 2000.''

''Giselle:

''Ya, we did well with the Juno's and the CCMA's.''

Kim:

''What was the best memory being a part of that trio?''

Giselle:

''With Lace, oh wow.'' ''There are so many.'' ''You know some of the most fun was in the least glamorous circumstances.'' ''But those were the most fun.''

Kim:

''Those are the one's we want to hear about.''

Giselle:

''We were touring on the George Strait tour, which is like the biggest tour you can get so we are excited but we are newly signed and don't have a big budget.'' ''So if we are going to do this, we were sleeping on van floors.'' ''I mean rickity vans.'' ''We were just hoping it would make it to the next venue, you know." ''We were trying not to be in the convoy of buses that were the buses 'George Strait' was in.'' ''Laughing'' ''Sometimes the VIP room was used as the public bathroom.'' ''Like we are getting into our clothes, the stage clothes and running out there.'' ''We had lot's of fun.''

Kim:

''Those are the kind of memories you like to look back on when you guys were starting out.'' ''What was it like writing with the three of you?''

Giselle:

''The three of us never did a ton of writing with all three of us together.'' ''We have written individually and Beverley and I have co-written together many times.'' ''Stacey and I have co-written some things.'' ''The three of us never really did a three way write.''

Kim:

''The one song that you guys did so well with and were up for 'Duo or Group of the Year, and 'Song of the Year' was ''I Want A Man.''

''There was a lot of laughter and fun in this interview with Giselle.'' ''Tune in to the full interview HERE at 8 pm to hear about Giselle's current single ''Counterfeit'' and how writing songs has become even better than ever, with lyrics and music that move you.

''BEHIND THE LYRICS - THE HUMAN INTEREST INSIDE STORY''

This Kelowna-based teen wrote his first song at age seven, took first place at the Vancouver P.N.E. ‘Star Showdown’ at nine, won the inaugural Penticton Youth Arts Award (25 and Under) at eleven, hit the charts at #74 for his first single to the radio at age fifteen, and was the youngest artist to ever be signed to award-winning talent agency Invictus Entertainment Group and label Big Star Recordings.

Beamer has been writing and performing since he was 7; and released his first single “Meteorite’ to radio at the age of 13 which reached into Top 70’s on Country radio. Now approaching 18, he has released a total of 9 singles so far, including this new one titled “Something to do With a Girl”, co-written with Phil Barton and Keith and Adrienne Follese in Nashville.

His talents received recognition from some major Canadian Country Music artists for whom he got the opening slot, including 3 times each for both George Canyon and Brett Kissel, as well as Aaron Pritchett. He also got to open for Dwight Yoakam in 2018, which started as a 20 minute set and ended up becoming a 65 minute fill in performance to an appreciative audience. U.S. artist Granger Smith also had him as part of his Western Canadian Tour.

In 2016 he released his first EP and two singles from that went to Country Radio, the first of which he co-wrote, reached #74 on the charts and was nominated for ‘Song of The Year’ at the ACMA’s.

Beamer has been writing steadily both on his own and with other songwriters in Nashville and in the past 3 years, he’s been working with legendary Billboard hit song writer Keith Follese and his wife Adrienne. On July 6th 2018, he released his third new single “Roller Coaster”, which had over 450k streams and was added to Disney Country Radio in L.A. . In 2019, he has released 3 singles, including “I Knew”, “I Want It Now” and on Dec. 20th, he released another single. “Crazy Being Crazy, which has hit #53 on the TRAX Chart and #58 On Mediabase Chart”. To date, he has accumulated over 1,300,000 streams on Apple Music & Spotify and 500k views on his Music Videos.

With 2020 underway, he already released another new single titled “I Got You and with more songs already recorded, he will have more releases this summer and his 2nd EP will follow those up later this year.

''I am going on record to say that Beamer Wigley is going to be the next Keith Urban'', says Kim Cyr-Goodyear, NOW and THEN Magazine. ''I have been able to watch Beamer's career over the past 3 years and the level of understanding he has at such a young age about who he is, what it takes to have a pulse on his career, the drive, his vocal capabilities, and his ability to deliver a great story. You are aren't born with that kind of talent. It takes imagination, dreams, and creativity to tell a great story. There is so much more to this young artist than meets the eye with his musicianship skills, including music production, music business, arranging music and how to keep himself grounded. Beamer has learned to how to hone in on his craft and skills playing the drums and guitar which has earned him a membership to the ''Brotherhood Of The Guitar.'' If he can stay grounded and keep good people around him during this very important part of his career and not rush it but build his skills learning and developing those writing skills and putting the lyrics to music, he can be the next Keith Urban. Hard work pays off and he has that so the stars are the limit for this young artist. It's up to him now in how far he takes it.'' - Kim Cyr-Goodyear NOW and THEN Magazine

Here is a part of the interview that I had with Beamer Wigley - You can hear the entire interview HERE

Kim:

''How have you been and how have you been holding up this summer though the isolation and not being able to play live music?''

Beamer:

''It's been weird, I will be honest, says Beamer.'' It's been a lot of adjusting but overall, I have been loving it. I have been working on the quitar like crazy, I couldn't be in a better spot creatively, so I am happy."

Kim:

''Everybody has had to do some self-reflection throughout all this.''

Beamer:

''It's been a huge time for that.

Kim:

''I never do this but I am going to predict something here, I am going on record saying, ''You have what it takes to be the next Keith Urban.'' ''The ability you have to deliver a story at this age, how you have learned your craft to play guitar and the drums, earning yourself a membership into the ''Brotherhood of the Guitars,'' I am so impressed.''

Beamer:

''Wow, that's such a great compliment.'' ''I am so glad you mentioned the storytelling as that was the reason I fell in love with country music in the first place.'' ''I became a musician so I could tell great stories.''

Kim:

''To have the body of work that you do already, incredible.'' ''Talk to us about that journey and how it all started?''

Beamer:

''Music has been around my whole life.'' ''I started playing drums when I was 3 always taking my mom's pots and pans out breaking all her wooden spoons until I broke the last ones and she said, ''Álright, I have had it. I am done. We are getting you a drum ket because you can breaking these anymore, says Mrs Wigley.''

''So I started playing drums and two years later, I saw a Keith Urban music video and I knew that's what I wanted to do.'' ''I just wanted to play guitar, play music.'' ''I had no interest in singing at this point.'' ''I just wanted to be a guitar player, so I did that for two years.''

''Then my guitar teacher recommended that I start singing.'' ''There was a talent competition and she suggested that I should enter and instead of just playing guitar, I should sing.'' ''So I sang and played my guitar on the stage and I never wanted to do anything else.''

Kim:

''You have a bromance or idolize an artist and his talents, tell us about that?

Beamer:

''I want to be Keith Urban so bad.''

Kim:

Laughing... ''Have you ever spoken to him?''

Beamer:

''No, I wish, that would be awesome.''

Kim:

''That's your dream to meet Keith Urban?''

Beamer:

''Ya, that's my bucket list for sure.'' ''That's my goal right there.'' ''I need to meet him and thank him.''

Kim:

''When I was listening to you doing, 'Crazy Being Crazy,' I had gooies.'' ''It's that style of songwriting for that song.'' ''I absolutely loved it and I played it over and over again draining my husband to listen with me.'' ''It is such a good song.'' ''It reminded me of Keith's style in his early years.''

Beamer:

''Thank you, I am really happy with how that song turned out.'' ''After writing it, we kinda, really didn't know how to feel about it. '' ''We sat on it for a few weeks and that song ended up climbing to the top for me.'' ''We were picking songs for the album and it just felt right.''

John Marshall (husband):

''You have not idea how much she loves Keith Urban.''

Kim:

''Ya, well, um yah.'' ''That's a different story. Haha...'' ''Let's just say, I have interviewed so many artists throughout my career and I have covered and reviewed him but I have never met him.'' ''The one surprise I cherish so much is that 'Keith Urban' sent my husband and I a very special wedding video and that means the world to me.'' ''Keith is on my bucket list to meet as well.'' ''That day will come for you.'' ''I just knew it.''

Beamer:

''Can't wait for that day.''

Kim:

''You started writing a seven years old.'' ''Do you remember what you wrote, what song that was?"

Beamer:

''The very first song I ever wrote was about the Okanagon Valley, the place I live.'' ''I don't know, seven year old me wanted to write about nature or something.''

Kim:

''Where did your desire for writing come from?'' ''I know about your mom playing the video but did you have influences with someone in your family that played or sang music?''

Beamer:

''No, which is kind of crazy.'' ''I am the only one musically.'' ''You heard it all the time when artists are asked if there is someone in their family that they got the music gene from and with mine, I am the only one musical at all."'

Kim:

''Your parents have to be so proud of you."

Beamer:

''It's crazy the support I get from them.'' ''I just love them so much.''

Kim:

''When you were eleven years old, you were sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in Canadian music like, George Canyon, Brett Kissel, Gord Bamford, and Aaron Pritchett, what was that like for you at eleven?''

Beamer:

''Ít was really overwhelming, very overwhelming but I knew it was a part of my journey, something I had to go through and I am so glad I did.'' ''I know how lucky I was to share the stage with such big names at such a young age.'' ''To build a relationship with them all, friendships that have helped me so much in the industry.'' ''It really helped me to navigate in the industry.'' ''I am luck to have such great friends.''

Kim:

''You surround yourself with such great artists and friends is amazing because it's a lot of pressure that young and even now.''

Beamer:

''Ya, it's really weird going it at eleven when you have no clue about the music industry and what it's like and all the ins and outs of it.'' ''I will be honest with you, I was pretty nieve at that point and how things worked in the industry so to be able to have that guidance with people I trusted, such close friends, I am lucky.''

Kim:

''How was it with you friends being an artist?''

Beamer:

''They are so great.'' ''They like to come to all my shows and show me so much support.'' ''I have such great friends and I am so lucky.''

Kim:

''That is really good.'' ''It's so good to have your family base right behind you in this journey you are on.'' ''We talked about nerves and what it's like to get up on that stage for the first time.'' ''Do you remember that moment?''

Beamer:

''I wish I could remember it vividly, it's kind of cloudy.'' ''I had my nerves but once I was up there, I remember feeling like I was home.''

Kim:

In 2013, you started to work with legendary Billboard hit songwriters and Grammy nominees, 'Keith Follese' and his wife, 'Adrienne.' ''You are working with them now on your current singles this year.'' Tell us about that.''

Beamer:

''I have been working with them for the past few years and it is so much fun.'' ''I really like writing with them and getting into the process working with people you know.'' ''Keith and I have been writing together for about five years, I guess.'' ''It's great because we know how we work together, the process well and we create really well together.'' ''It's a really good enviroment to create a good record.''

Kim:

''Do you remember who took your writing seriously right from the beginning?''

Beamer:

''That would have been when I went with my first meeting with JIm Cressman., with ''Invictus Entertainment Group.'' ''That is when I was eleven and we worked together til I was fifteen.'' ''It was incredible, I loved working with him and Invictus Entertainment.''

Jim Cressman, CEO & President at Invictus Entertainment Group,''

Kim:

''Jim is so good and he has such a big heart.'' ''There is nobody better in the business who knows how to spot talent and help an artist navigate sucessfully in the music industry.'' ''Incredible man in so many ways.'' ''An industry powerhouse.''

''In 2018, you had released ''Rollercoaster.'' ''It launched your career really.''

Beamer:

''Ya, it was a huge song for multiple reasons, it did well on the charts but it was the first song I released since working with Keith Follus.'' ''I learned a whole new writing process working with him and it was the launching of my album that we had worked for for three years.'' ''It was the starting point for me and set the path to where I am today.'' ''Where my writing has grown and where I am now.''

Kim:

Interview w/Canadian Country Artist ‘Suzi Kory’ by Kim Cyr-Goodyear

“Tonight, I had the pleasure of interviewing an incredibly talented singer/songwriter who delivers with her powerhouse vocals and her stellar capability to bring a story to life. Canadian country rock artist, ‘Suzi Kory’ has what it takes in the music industry and is recognized by her peers for her craft as a singer/songwriter,’’ says, Kim Cyr-Goodyear for NOW and THEN Magazine.

Beirut born Kory, who now calls Toronto home, exploded onto the scene with her rock EP 'Spellcasting' but it was as she began work on her second EP that her country music roots started to shine through. Suzi grew up listening to country music in her family home so country wasn't a surprise as a music choice for genres but rock was her first real love. She was drawn to the rock style music listening to the rock legends, ''Guns and Roses'' and found her inspiration there to sing and write music.

“My parents always had classic country music playing in our house and I never realized the influence it really had on me until now”, says Kory. I personally listened to rock music while they were always playing the older style of country like Eddie Rabbitt, Crystal Gayle, Kenny Rogers, and Dolly Pardon, so I think subconsciously it all influenced me. It's really interesting to me how it all came about.’’
