Beautiful Freakshow is the sixth studio album by Canadian country music artist Dean Brody. It was released on October 21, 2016 via Open Road Recordings. Brody wrote or co-wrote all but one of the album’s tracks. Beautiful Freakshow debuted at number #12 on the Canadian Albums Chart. Its lead single, “Bush Party”, has charted in at #1 on the Canada Country airplay chart. Now, Dean is on tour supporting the album, and brought along some amazing talent, James Barker Band and High Valley who opened at Budweiser Gardens, in London Thursday night and the fans loved every minute of it.
Brody performed “Time” during the Canadian Country Music Awards broadcast this past September. “Time” is a strong country ballad tying in situations that we can all relate to. Time is something we all want more of but can never find. After Brody’s performance during the CCMA broadcast, “Time” climbed the charts to number two on iTunes country music chart. Fans new and old have been interacting and reaching out with their admiration for the song on social media. “Time” is one of Brody’s best performances on this album.
Dean was awarded single of the year for 'Bring Down The House', CMT video of the year and songwriter of the year for the same song at that show. Dean Brody has nine CCMA awards and two Juno Awards to his credit making him another Canadian superstar among artists like Dallas Smith, Johnny Reid, George Canyon, Paul Brandt, Gord Bamford, Terri Clark, Michelle Wright and Shania Twain.
The ''Beautiful Freakshow'' started out with the very talented James Barker Band who won Boots and Hearts Music Festival's Emerging Artist Showcase in 2015 and went on to sign with Universal Music Canada. High Valley hit the stage next pumping the energy into the centre getting the fans on their feet and ready for Dean Brody!

“Bush Party” is the first song that welcomes you to Brody’s Beautiful Freakshow. Opening songs can make or break the listener’s attention at a concert, and “Bush Party” grabs you from the first foot stopping beat, right up until Brody starts spelling “B U S H P A R T Y” in his deep, rich voice. “Bush Party” set the stage from the very first note that had everyone feeling that Friday night anthem, crank-the-volume-to-speaker-blowing-levels kind of energy and the crowd was singing along at the top of their lungs the whole way through. “Bush Party” easily became my favorite tune from my first listen. As the albums debut single, “Bush Party” was released this past summer and quickly became the number one most added single at country radio. “Bush Party” has “hit” written all over it for Brody and performing it was just as brilliant! This song showcases many different musical elements including a rap contribution by Halifax native, Shevy Price. It was a musical piece of art. Completely boundary pushing when it comes to country music, it solidifies the fact that Brody is a creative being who is inventive and is always thinking outside the music box and not afraid to show it.
Brody and the Brodeo played song's "Dirt Roads Scholar", ''Upside Down'' and ''People Know You By Your First Name" before hitting the beach intro of the show. "Roll That Barrel Out", ''Beautiful Girl'' and ''Monterey.''
Brody loves to play with musical stylings and genres. “Beautiful Girl” toys with some reggae-esque elements and keeps the vibe of the album going strong. “Beautiful Girl” is one of those roll down the truck windows, flying down a dirt road, speakers as loud as possible kind of tunes. Even with its reggae influences, “Beautiful Girl” fits seamlessly onto the album ''Beautiful Freakshow.''
"'Undone'' and ''Love Would Be Enough'' brought tears to the eyes of many in the audience as Dean made a very special dedication to a woman in the Canadian Military who suffers from PTSD. It was amazing to watch Dean interact with the crowd. There was some pretty special moments.
Shane Guse (Brodeo member) played "Bounty" on the fiddle receiving a roar from the crowd while Dean set up an acoustic set on a much smaller stage in the middle of the audience with Jason Barry and Scott Galloway.

The acoustic set had fans drawn out of their seats where they moved as close as they could get to the star leading them in song as the lights lit the centre. It didn't really matter whether Dean Brody played a party song or just sat playing a cool acoustic set, the crowd was just as energized throughout the entire concert. That says a great deal about the reach this artist has. His fans seem to trust all that he does musically and in his performance and it really resonates watching the interaction between the artist and fans.
Dean, Scott Galloway and Jason Barry played "Little Yellow Blanket', ''Brothers'' and ''Time'' for the special bro's time on the mini stage.
Dean and the Brodeo intro into the summer part of the concert was so contagious with "Beautiful Freakshow" giving the fans exactly what they expect from this gifted singer/songwriter. He does things with such ease and you can't help but relate to every single word.
Brody and the Brodeo played ''It's Friday'', ''Bring Down The House'' and ''Canadian Girls."
Brody rounds out the night with "'Mountain Man" and “Another Saturday Night” high energy songs leaving the night on a fun note. This is definitely one of Brody’s most enjoyable fun performances that I have seen yet. In addition to his strong vocal skills, Brody is able to put so much character and personality in his voice that you feel exactly what he was feeling all night. You can clearly tell Brody feels, breathes and enjoys every ounce of music that he writes and sings.
Canada has some stellar country artists and we all should be pretty proud of them all. Congratulations to Dean Brody. I am more of a fan then I was before after seeing this last performance. Well done...not only is Dean a really humble guy which is so refreshing but he really cares about the world and what's happening in it taking part in his own charity to give back.
In addition to creating great music, Brody set up The Dean Brody Foundation to physically help in the rescue and prevention of young girls being exploited in child prostitution and human trafficking in Brazil and around the world. Find out more about The Dean Brody Foundation, click here!
