NXNE Announce Festival Dates for 2019

NXNE is pleased to announce the festival dates for 2019.

The festival will again run for a full 10 days, this year starting Friday, June 7 through Sunday, June 16.

“It takes more than a week to fit in all the action that is NXNE” says the festival’s founder Michael Hollett. “We added many great new elements last year and NXNE’s dynamic audience wants even more, so we’re bringing it in 2019.”

NXNE will again launch with its Game Land, eSports Competition Friday, through Sunday, June 7 – 9.

The Club Land series takes over many of Toronto’s top live music venues for NXNE’s full 10 days with many venues having extended last call till 4 am. The Club Land shows are programmed by Canada’s top musicians as well as leading music Tastemakers, and accessible with a $29 priority admission. Look for even more than the 20 musician Curators from 2018 and many more Tastemakers including international showcases.

NXNE will again be closing down two blocks of Yonge Street to car traffic and opening it up for fun with the creation of Festival Village from Dundas to Queen, Friday June 14 to Sunday, June 16.

“NXNE’s Yonge Street reboot and the creation of the three day Festival Village has been wildly popular. We are bringing it back even bigger and better with more stages and more free entertainment. With over half a kilometer of activation space the only limit to creating Toronto’s biggest free party is our imagination,” says Hollett.

In addition to the Festival Village’s Main stage, NXNE on Yonge also includes: a free Comedy Tent, gaming stations, a beer and spirits garden, additional music stages and much more.

Stay tuned for tons of news from NXNE including: festival performers lineup, Club Land Curators and Tastemakers announcements, tournament games and details for NXNE Game Land and much more.

See you next June 7 – 16 all over Toronto.

NXNE shuts down two blocks of Canada's longest street every June to create the NXNE Yonge Street Festival Village as part of their 10 day annual festival of music, gaming, comedy and more. NXNE’’s Yonge Street Festival Village takes place Friday, June 14 to Sunday, June 16.

NXNE FESTIVAL VILLAGE TAKES OVER THE STREET FROM DUNDAS TO QUEEN

NXNE takes over Toronto's Yonge Street every June, from Yonge Dundas Square, Canada's Times Square, south to Queen to create the NXNE Yonge Street festival Village, more than two blocks of free entertainment, activations and more. NXNE shuts down the street and sets up its main music stage on Yonge facing into the city's celebrated Square where a beer garden helps beat the heat.  A Comedy Tent at the south end of the Festival Village brackets the fun and gaming stations, sponsor activations, buskers, community group information booths and much more keep the Village pumping throughout NXNE's three days on Yonge. NXNE’s 2019 Festival Village takes place Friday, June 14 to Sunday, June 16. The full Festival runs Friday, June 7 to Sunday, June 16.

NXNE's 2018 Festival Village headliners included: Chvrches, Jazz Cartier, Tinsahe, Lights, Big Freedia, Azealia Banks, Yungblud, U.S Girls, Cadence Weapon, Alx Velez, Seon Leon and many more as over 50,000 attended the Festival Village alone. Previous NXNE Yonge Street headliners have included: Iggy and the Stooges, Flaming Lips, St. Vincent, Run the Jewels, New Pornographers, Spoon, Mac de Marco and dozens more -- all for free.

Watch for lineup announcements in early 2019.
