The Duchess of Sussex has given birth to a boy, the Duke of Sussex has announced.
A beaming Prince Harry said they were "absolutely thrilled" and thanked the public for their support.
He said Meghan and the baby were doing "incredibly well", adding that they were still thinking about names for the infant, who was delivered at 05:26 BST.
Buckingham Palace said the baby weighed 7lbs 3oz (3.2kg), and that the duke was present for the birth.
It added: "The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news.
Harry and Meghan thank the public for its "support and kindness"
Harry and Meghan posted a video on their official Instagram page thanking the public for its “support and kindness.”
Their post read:
“This afternoon, His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex shared the news of the arrival of his and the Duchess’ first born child. Their son was born early morning on the 6th of May, 2019 and weighs 7lbs and 3oz. Their Royal Highnesses thank you for your support and kindness during this exceptionally joyful time in their lives as they welcome their baby boy.”
The video shows Harry from earlier today, speaking to reporters after announcing the news.
"It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined," he said.

One royal tradition to watch out for on Monday is the release of an official notice signed by Meghan's doctors, confirming the newborn's gender, weight and time of birth.
Here's what the palace says about it: A framed notice of birth will go on display on a ceremonial easel on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace following the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son.
The framed notice of birth will be brought out of the Privy Purse Door and carried across the forecourt, to be placed on the easel.
What's different this time round? The easel is being placed out after news of the new royal baby's birth was announced on Instagram, usually it's placed on the forecourt simultaneously as the birth is first revealed.

Meghan's dad "proud" and "delighted" at birth of royal baby, The Sun reports
Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, expressed his pride over the birth of his grandson to a British tabloid newspaper on Monday.
Thomas Markle reportedly told The Sun that the child will serve with "grace, dignity and honor."
I'm delighted to hear that mother and child are doing well," Markle said in a statement to the Sun newspaper.
“I am proud that my new grandson is born into the British royal family and I am sure that he will grow up to serve the crown and the people of Britain with grace, dignity, and honor," Markle continued.
“God bless the child and I wish him health and happiness, and my congratulations to my lovely daughter Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry, and God save the Queen.”
Archbishop of Canterbury congratulates royals on new baby
The head of the Church of England has congratulated the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of their baby boy.
The Archbishop of Canterbury posted a tweet on Monday:

The baby boy is seventh in line to the throne, behind the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and his children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - and Prince Harry.
He is the Queen's eighth great-grandchild.
Speaking after the birth, Harry added the child had been "a little overdue" and that he planned to make another announcement in two days' time "so everyone can see the baby".
Asked what it was like to be present for the birth, he laughed and said: "I haven't been at many births. This is definitely my first birth. It was amazing, absolutely incredible, and, as I said, I'm so incredibly proud of my wife.
"As every father and parent will ever say, you know, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to-die-for, so I'm just over the moon."
He added: "It's been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.
"How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension."
The baby is a dual citizen, having automatically acquired US citizenship, via Meghan, at birth
